     Julie worked as a telephone operator in Tekamah from graduation until December 1959.  On March 20, 1960 she married Clark Beck and had one child. 

     Julie was a stay at home Mom until 1970 when she went to work for Jack and Jackie Maryott at the Red Feather, and she kept the books for Beck Oil.  She and Bev managed the Mini Mart until she got sick in November 2003.

Funeral services were held for Julie Ann Beck Wednesday, October 27, 2004, at the Decatur United Methodist Church, Decatur, Nebraska, with Rev. Philip Sloat officiating.

Julie Ann Beck passed away Sunday, October 24, 2004, at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa, from complications due to cancer.  She was 63 years of age.

Organist for the services was Helen Thomas.  Andrew Taylor, Lester Shaw, David Shaw, Dwayne Haeffner, Wayne Hightree and Ed Maslonka served as casket bearers.  Burial was in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Decatur, NE.

She was born May 21, 1941, in West Point, Nebraska, to Willard and Mildred (Doolittle) Drummond.  Until the age of six years, Julie lived in rural Lyons and attended Wilson Country School until the first grade.  At that time, she moved with her family to Decatur and attended Decatur Public School.  Julie graduated from Decatur High School as Valedictorian of the Class of 1958.  Following her graduation, she went to work at the telephone company in Tekamah.

On March 20, 1960, Julie and Clark Beck were united in marriage at the United Methodist Church in Decatur.  To this union one daughter, Beverly Jane, was born on October 4, 1960.

Julie was a member of the Decatur United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law, Kenneth Beck; and brother-in-law, Don McAllister.

Julie is survived by her husband; daughter; Beverly (Mark) Siecke, of Decatur; mother-in-law; Luella Beck, and two grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Hamel-Peck-Pelan Funeral Home, of Tekamah, NE.
