Bernice JoAnn Schneider Maryott (deceased)

 

September 27, 1931 - January 14, 1996

Bernice JoAnn Maryott, 64, died January 14, 1996, at her farm home near Bitton, SD.  Funeral services were January 17, at St. John De Britto Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Dan Manning celebrating Mass.

She was born September 27, 1931, at Mead to Lester L. and Bernice M. (Lowe) Schneider.  She moved to Decatur in 1947 and graduated from Decatur High School.

June 5, 1949, she married Ned Maryott at South Sioux City.  They lived in and around Decatur for the next 15 years.  In 1964 they moved to South Sioux City where she was employed as a secretary for Hirschbach Trucking.

The couple moved to Britton in 1967 and worked a cattle feeding and buying business.  Maryott Feedlot, they established in 1971.

Mrs. Maryott had been a member of St. John De Britton Alter Society, Royal Neighbors and Order of the Easter Star.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband; son and daughter-in-law, David and Patty Maryott; and two grandchildren, Sandra and Jacob of Britton; and brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Janet Schneider of Grand Island.

Music was provided by Dorothy Jones, organist, and Terry Price, vocalist.

Pallbearers were Alfred LaMee, Curt Jones, Maurice Jones, Les Loterbauer, Darrell Wallace and Gary Zuehlke.

Burial was at Britton Cemetery.
