     I live in Decatur and reside with my family.  I have worked as a porter at Casino Omaha and am currently on Kidney Dialysis 3 times a week.  I like to read, do puzzles and be outdoors for enjoyment.

November 20, 1948 - April 11, 1997

Services for Deborah Sue Sparks will be 2 p.m. Wednesday (today), April 16, at Decatur City Hall.  She died April 11, 1997, at her home in Decatur at the age of 48.

She was born November 20, 1948, in Tekamah to Marvin Arthur and Nellie Evelyn (Grant) Sparks.  The life long Decatur area resident graduated from Decatur High School.

Miss Sparks was employed as a custodian at Casino Omaha.  She was a member of the Word of Life Ministries in Decatur.

Preceding her in death were her mother; brother, Toby; and nephew, Chuckie.

Survivors included her father, who was hospitalized at the V. A. Hospital in Omaha (he died two days later), sisters, Pat Sparks-Freemont of Decatur, Sherry D. Jones of Onawa, IA, and Jean Compton of Decatur; and brothers, Guy W. Sparks of Texarkana, Texas, and Marvin D. Sparks of Decatur.

Pastor Michael McCormick will officiate and Pastor Doris McCormick will provide music.

Casket bearers will be Matthew Sparks-Freemont, Grant Sparks-Freemont, Ed Sparks, Jessie Compton, Bridget Compton and Rodney Jones.

Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Decatur.
