1939 ~ 2007

BETTY GRACE KETTERMAN OLSON was born February 19, 1939, at Cisne, Illinois, to Charles and Dorothy (Hurd) Ketterman. She passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2007, at Burgess Health Center in Onawa, Iowa, at the age of 68 years.

Betty graduated from Decatur High School in 1956.

On March 30, 1957, Betty and Harold Olson were united in marriage at Walthill, Nebraska. Betty attended college at Wayne State and taught school two years before she and Harold moved to Pewaukee, Wisconsin. Betty worked as a checker at Kohl’s Foods when they first moved to Pewaukee. She continued her education and earned a degree in accounting. Betty became Vice President of Accounting at Kohl’s Foods, where she worked for many years. Harold passed away on June 1, 1987. Betty returned to Decatur in 1990 and worked in accounting for the Omaha Tribe and Winnebago Tribe, retiring in 2004.

Betty was very active in the Decatur Community Club, Decatur Historical Society, the V.F.W. Auxiliary and her church. She was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ, Decatur Restoration Branch on March 23, 2003.

Betty enjoyed her nieces and nephews very much. She enjoyed family get-to-gathers and helping others.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Harold; brother: CharlesClark; and two nephews: Dennis and Edward.

Survivors include her two brothers and sisters-in-law: Elmer and Dorothy Ketterman of Deerbrook, Wisconsin, Jim and Sara Ketterman of Liberty, Illinois; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Friday, September 28, 2007, 10:00 a.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ, Decatur Restoration Branch, Decatur, Nebraska.

VISITATION: Thursday, September 27, 2007, 1 - 8 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5 - 8 p.m. at Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah. Visitation will also be held Friday at the church one hour prior to the service.

BURIAL: Hillcrest Cemetery, Decatur, Nebraska
