Where did the last 50 years go?  I still feel 17 years old in my mind.  Life is never dull.  I don't have a husband or children but I feel I have had a full and good life.  After high school I worked at the Green Lantern washing dishes.  Glad to get a job in a small town.  I worked as clerk for School District #7 from 1962-1965 and did the bookkeeping for the school board.  Loved the job.  As time went on I worked for my father and mother.  I always wanted to be a nurse.  In September 1967 at the age of 23 years, I started nurses training inn Independence, Missouri.  I graduated in May 1970.  I took my state boards in Missouri with my classmates and worked at the home hospital until receiving my state board results in August.  Then my roommate and I  went to Honolulu, Hawaii to work.  I worked there 4 months and became homesick and returned to Nebraska.  I was doing med-surgery nursing.  After that I worked in a lot of different areas.  I worked chemical dependency as detox nurse, I worked for Medicaid Commission in Jackson, MS and we surveyed nursing homes with Medicaid patients.  I worked on the Omaha Indian Reservation in Community health.

In 1989 I started to get sick with muscle aches, headaches and fatigue.  did not know until 2006 that I probably had had Lyme disease ever since I became ill.  Life has been interesting and I'm not dead yet.  I look forward to seeing my 1961 classmates.  In 2008 we had a get together and 8 out of 12 attended.  I consider my classmates as family.  I feel blessed we grew up when we did.  Go Bulldogs!
