Sorry I can't be with you this year, but I have been elected Commander of our local American Legion Post and Memorial Day is a must for me.

I have been retired for 10 years, but I am busier than ever.  I spend lots of time in Boy Scout activities.  I am a District Commissioner and Committee Chairman for our local troop.  The best part is working with the boys.  I teach Dutch Oven Cooking (boys all love to eat), and am an advisor to the Native American Dance Team.  Our troop camps every month of the year including a week in the Adirondack Mountains each summer.  I was also pleased to take the troop to the National Jamboree and lay a wreath at Arlington.

The Legion keeps us busy ,too, with dinners, fish fries, and ball tournaments.  We still find some time to haul our camper around and spend time with friends.  If life ever seems to slow down there are plenty of community service projects to to.  Oh yes, and there is the 4 acres of lawn to mow!  We live way out in the country but life is never dull.  Good friends and good neighbors makes for a good life.
