Arden (Jerry) Brewer (deceased)

 November 25, 1938 - March 21, 1997

Arden "Jerry" Brewer, 58, formerly of Decatur, died March 21, 1997, at his residence in Omaha.  Services were March 25 at Decatur United Methodist Church with the Rev. Judith Clark Wharton officiating.  Dona Beard was organist.

He was born November 25, 1938, in Decatur to Henry Eugene and Melva IvaJean (Hightree) Brewer.  He was baptized March 29, 1944, and graduated from Decatur High School in 1956.

December 11, 1961, he enlisted in the United States Army and was discharged September 20, 1963.  He was a member of the VFW in Omaha.

Brewer was a supervisor at Iowa Beef & North State Beef.  He spent his spare time fishing and hunting.

His parents and brother, Lowell preceded him in death.

Survivors include a son, Arden J. Brewer Jr. of Omaha; six brothers, Terry of Des Moines, Iowa, Paul of Lyons, Lonny of Fort Collins, Co, Jon and Clark, both of Onawa, IA;  Ron of Norfolk; and two sisters, Fanchon Andersen of Omaha and Janelle Britton of Kansas City, MO.

Military graveside rites were conducted at Hillcrest Cemetery, Decatur by VFW Post No 6926 and American Legion Post No. 215.

Casket bearers were nephews Alan, Jon Jr., Eric, Matt, Mike, Roger, Bobby, Lonny Jr. and Darby Brewer, and Kyle Britton.
